    Hi Susan,
We met last week at BookPeople in Austin when you were with your dad and our mutual friend Derek O’Brien. Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed reading your book. The closing paragraphs in the chapters on confidence and joy (6 and 7) were especially wonderful. I hope you and your dad had a safe trip back to Boston. It was nice meeting you.

    Regards,
    Betsy

Betsy, thanks so much for taking the time to write. I really appreciate it. And it was great to meet you through the wonderful D. O’Brien. Any friend of Derek’s is a friend of mine. All best, Susan

    Hello
I would just like to thank you for your article. I had a similar inner ‘wake up call’ not too long ago over a painful 2 year relationship.
It was so wonderful to hear someone else experience something so amazingly similar. I suddenly realized how stupid I was
being for wasting my precious time wallowing over someone that had hurt me and taken so much from me.This realization occured in literally a second, and just as long as it took, I suddenly realized that everything is going to be ok. A calm came over me. After hearing this “voice” which you speak of in your article, I decided that I was not going to miss another moment of my life living with over-whelming inner voices that were so stressful, painful, and debilitating.

I finally realized that my mind had taken over, and was getting the best of me, taking away my precious time. I finally decided to be present in every moment, and not wallow over some man who couldn’t care less about how much he had hurt me. This “voice” helped me to achieve a beautiful sense of inner peace that I don’t think I have ever felt before.

Thank you for putting words to such a life changing and mind changing experience. Thank you for your article in Body & Soul!

    Sincerely,

    Caryn
